Portobelo is a small fishing village and port that the Spanish used to use to transport their gold. When you arrive, you are taken on a five-minute boat ride across the bay to El Otro Lado, because land access is blocked by forest and rivers. From here you are taken to your little Caribbean casita overlooking the pool / bay and your holiday can really begin.
The hotel is beautifully appointed in a mid-century style with unique Panamanian touches by local artists. It offers three suites and five unique bay view villas of 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms. The decorator is a genius in the way he has managed to combine colors, styles and textures, creating a truly unique, cool and quirky hideaway. Service is excellent at every level, and you feel truly pampered. The restaurant offers a Fusion Cuisine, a mix of local food culture with European, American and Oriental traditions. There is also a kid’s menu for the little ones.
